ReVamp Recap: 2015 in Review

With the holidays winding down and the cold weather picking up, here at ReVamp Wholesale, we’re putting the final touches on 2015. Join us as we take a look back on our challenges, improvements, and highlights, as well as some things to look forward to in 2016.

Challenges
While the release of the iPhone 6S and 6S plus got the tech world excited, it seemed to do quite the opposite for the mobile device repair industry. Manufacturing of the new phones caused stock shortages and pricing fluctuations making it difficult to keep competitively priced inventory in stock.

While we were generally able to keep the skyrocketing costs at bay thanks to our industry knowledge, to compensate for the higher cost of screens, we increased the buy back price of our LCD recycling program. By doing this, you were able to turn your broken screens into store credit, easing the burden of volatile prices.
Though we encouraged our customers to stock up on inventory before the Chinese holidays, even that was no match for the shortages we didn’t anticipate. We learned now to be more careful in underestimating our stock during unpredictable times. In 2016, you can expect less stock shortages and more consistent product availability.
Outside of the issues pertaining to the release of the 6S and 6S Plus, one thing that plagued repair shops in 2015 was the iPhone 6 industry-wide adhesive defect causing lifting issues with many assemblies. Thankfully, our customers notified us promptly of this issue allowing us to test our screens more extensively, a process that will be carried into 2016.

But let’s not forget shipping.. One thing we learned from last year was that even during low-volume shipping periods, there is still the potential for extensive shipping delays.  Because of this, we encouraged our customers to switch to more reliable carriers and recommended shipping insurance, especially for large orders. This way, they could rest easy knowing their orders would get from Point A to Point B safely and promptly.
Improvements
In 2015 we rolled out bi-yearly Customer Feedback Surveys in April and November. As a thank you to your feedback, we awarded you store credit and raffled off some amazing prizes.
But it didn’t end there.
Because of your suggestions, we were able to greatly improve our services to you. This includes but is not limited to:

And we’re not done yet. With your help, we’re expecting to improve our services greatly in 2016 and can’t wait to show you everything we’re working on.
Highlights
You Learned About Us
We want to be more than just your vendor, we want to be your team. In 2015 we began interviewing our staff in hopes to give you insight as to what we’re really about here at ReVamp.

At CTIA 2015, we got the pleasure of meeting many of you face-to-face to learn about not only your businesses, but you as people. Not everything that happens in Vegas should stay there. We took with us back to Chicago many great memories of the trip, as well as a clearer idea of how we can better serve our customers, and fellow vendors alike.
We Grew Together
We care about your businesses and want to do everything we can to help you grow them. In addition to our improvements, in 2015 our General Manager, Matt Haywood, took his extensive mobile device repair experience and provided some tricks of the trade to help you in the shop.

In addition to upgrading your repair techniques, we also aimed to upgrade your accessory inventory by rolling out Mahngo Glass, the first product in our new accessory line.
INC
Because of your loyalty and faith in us as your vendor, you made us Inc. Magazine’s 50th fastest growing company in the country-an honor that our team will never forget. But this success isn’t just for us, it’s for you as well. With this growth comes better opportunities to improve our services to you and we look forward doing much of that in 2016
We Showed Our Appreciation 

We stepped up our contest game in 2015 DRAMATICALLY by giving away 1,300,000 in reward points to our weekly contest winners. We also thanked our customers for giving feedback by giving away points and prizes for taking our Customer Feedback surveys.

It didn’t stop there. To close out December, we gave away 4 Apple Watches in a weekly drawing throughout the month.

ACS

In addition to giving back to our customers, we gave back to our community by volunteering at Chicago’s Anti Cruelty Society. Because of our time, we were able to provide the shelter animals beds and toys to keep them comfortable and entertained until they find their forever homes.
Looking Ahead in 2016
We got good momentum in 2015 and hope to carry it through well into 2016 and beyond!
While we won’t give away everything just yet, you can expect to see more accessories released for our Mahngo line, as well as continued improvements and more opportunities to give feedback. You can also expect to see us again this year at CTIA 2016. We hope to see many of you again and can’t wait to meet more of you this time around!
